City Fire Quickly Extinguished

The Chief & Rescue would assist Pittston City & Jenkins FDs with a working fire on Center St in the City Saturday morning. City crews
arrived to find a working fire in a second floor bedroom of a two story, two unit residential building.
City firefighters would quickly extinguish the flames, while crews from Jenkins Twp threw ladders and handled truck operations. R112 would
split crews to handle utility control in the basement, while also forcing several doors and setting up the RIT staging area.
Crews would return to service within 90 minutes.

112 Runs Yet Another Old Forge Fire
2.7.2012 -
Just before midnight, Engine 112 would run back into Old Forge for a structure fire on Coxton Rd., located in the Connell's patch section
of town. Chief 93-A arrived to find a working fire in a single story, two unit residential structure.
Engines 93 and 93-3 would place attacks 1&2 into service, while the truck companies began opening up the house. Experiencing heavy smoke
conditions,crews would need to search for the seat of the fire, which was located in the home's basement.
Engine 112 along with Engine / Rescue 98 would replace the 93 companies on the attack lines in the basement, remaining on the lines for the
duration of overhaul.
Crews operated for approximately 90 mins before picking up and returning to service.

Pickup Crashes into Home
2.6.2012 -
Crews responded to Packer & Fourth Sts Monday afternoon for a vehicle into a house. Crews arrived to find a pickup truck into the home's
porch, with the occupant still in the vehicle.
EMS crews evaluated the male patient, who refused treatment on the scene. Once the vehicle was removed from the porch, Rescue 112 would
begin placing lumber to shore up the porch roof until contractors can make more permanent repairs. No one was home at the time
of the crash.

Fully involved Garage Fire

The engine & chief responded into Old Forge Friday night to assist 1st alarm companies with a well involved, detached garage. Crews
arrived to find heavy fire conditions, which were threatening a nearby exposure. Engine 933 would place attack one into service, with
Engine 93 establishing the water supply.
Engine 112 arrived and hooked up to support the hydrant. The remainder of 112 would setup as the RIT team initially, until the SRN companies
could arrive. Upon arrival of Engine 143, the 112 crew would replace 933 on attack one. Crews operated for nearly two hours before being
released by command.

Early Morning fire in Old Forge

Engine & Chief 112 responded to assist Old Forge FD with a working fire Monday morning. Chief 93 arrived to find a two story, multiple unit
building with a working fire on Division 2. Engine 93-3 established water supply and placed attack 1 into service. Supported by Ladder
93, initial crews made quick working on knocking down the visible fire.
Engine 112 setup to support the primary water supply, and assisted initial companies in overcoming water supply issues early on. Chief 112
would assist Chief 93 in the command system. Crews would remain on the scene for close to two hours before picking up.

Mid Afternoon Fire in Dupont

Station 112 would clear the house, sending the Rescue & Engine to assist Dupont FD with a residential fire on Wilson St. Dupont Engine
arrived reporting smoke showing and finding fire in the home's back porch. As crews began to go to work, Fire Police Capt Halagarda would
work to restrain the homeowner, who was being confrontational with firefighters. Dupont PD would take the individual into custody.
Engine 166 took the hydrant, with R-112 taking first due truck operations. The rescue split crews, with the interior team handling primary
search, while the outside team started ventilation before assisting crews with overhaul. Engine 112 would be held in staging, as the fire
was quickly contained.

Crash Seriously Injures One

Rescue 112 along w Engine 125, EMS 512 and Medic 303 all responded to Interstate 81 Northbound in Dupont for a motor vehicle accident with
injuries. Originally reported as an accident involving a SUV and Tractor Trailer, crews arrived to find a single vehicle accident.
The vehicle involved traveled from the Southbound lane into the Northbound side, striking the end section of guardrail head on. The impact
would cause significant damage to the vehicle, forcing the firewall well into the passenger compartment. Engine 125 arrived and began
stabilization, while also deploying a handline due to leaking gasoline. Rescue 112 arrived and assisted with patient packaging and removal
from the vehicle. Before clearing the scene, 112 personnel would use the K-12 to cut the guardrail that was now bent and resting in the
passing lane.

Chief and Rescue 112 responded along with Pittston City and Jenkins Twp FDs for a working fire in the rear of a Parsonage St. home. Crews
arrived to find the home fully involved with live wires arcing.
City crews, with assistance from Jenkins Twp. would place two 2.5" handlines into service while 112 setup the RIT operation and assisted
with forcible entry. The operation would remain defensive due to the heavy fire conditions and extensive damage already done.
Crews would not only battle the flames, but also contend with tempatures in the single digits.

Daytime Fire in the City

Rescue 112 responded to assist Pittston City and Jenkins Twp firefighters with a fire in a commercial building in the rear of a Lambert St
residence. Pittston City crews arrived to find smoke showing from the building, with Engine 2 establishing the water supply. Crews would
place two handlines into service, and quickly douse the fire. City crews, along with firefighters from Jenkins Twp, would overhaul for
more than an hour,finding fire in the walls and in the ceiling beams.
Rescue 112, with a crew of five, would handle the RIT duties, remaining on scene for close to 30 minutes.

Duryea Structure Fire

Station 112 would assist Duryea FD with a working fire on Stephenson St late Wednesday afternoon. Crews arrived to find fire self vented
out the Bravo/Charlie corner of division one, with extension up into division two.
Ladder 226 handled first due truck ops, while engine 126 set attack one into service. Rescue 112 arrived, splitting crews to copmlete the
primary seach on the D exposure while laddering and assisting with outside vent operations. 112 would then regroup and be tasked with sending
a crew to the second floor to hook ceilings, while a second crew would handle roof ventilation.
Rescue, Engine and Fire Police 112 would all operate at the incident.
